(2001) Calking was a product for Coca-Cola (Japan), formulated to have the same amount of calcium as milk, which not popular among children here. The spots were designed for children and were coordinated with a campaign to teach parents the value of giving their kids the recommended allowance of calcium. I was creative director on the entire project. I designed the character with Midori Uesugi and together we developed all graphics and packaging. Costumes and puppets were fabricated by Jim Henson Productions.
Calking goes for a hike in the woods, meets a bear and for some reason they begin to brawl. Just as soon as Calking punches the bear, they are joined by other forest creatures in a happy dance. The consequences of the earlier fight is revealed during one of the product shots.
