In 107,594: 2 Years Later, I read a short writing about my experience of doing a year-long project 107,594 (joannatam.net/107594.html) repeatedly for 1 hour and 55 minutes, the duration of the video. 107,594 is the estimated number of Iraqi civilians who died from violence since the US-led invasion, as of October 29th 2010 (Source: Iraq Body Count). On November 19th, 2010, I began writing down the information of 107,594 Iraqi civilians on index cards, an hour a day, every day. I completed all the index cards writing on December 2nd, 2011.
The image in the video is a still photograph of all the materials I had used for this year-long project.
