In December 2012 a group of local people in the village of Silverdale in Staffordshire decided to organise an 'Energy Question Time' event, to generate and disseminate knowledge about energy saving across their community.
Their local group is one of four, formed as part of a Keele University research project on the potential for Community Knowledge Networks (CKNs) to contribute to (i) reducing UK carbon emissions from domestic energy and (ii) addressing the hardship currently produced by increasing fuel costs.
In this 7-minute film we get a sense of what they have gained from the project and from the event, and how energy issues can become something interesting and sociable to talk about, rather than just individual.
The full event, with questions, answers and discussion, is available as a separate 30-minute video, intended to disseminate that energy advice across Staffordshire and more widely. It is at vimeo.com/publicspace/eqt2
