The Zaatari Refugee Camp sits in the Jordanian desert, 15 kilometres from the border with Syria. Since it opened in August 2012, the number of Syrians who have flooded in has skyrocketed... going well past the 60,000 first anticipated. Hitting 85,000 in just 4 months and heading very quickly to its maximum of 120,000.
But as the numbers grow, hopes fade for a speedy return home. CBC Middle East Correspondent and Videojournalist Sasa Petricic revisited the camp to see how people are coping.
First broadcast Jan 31, 2012 on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's flagship newscast, The National.
