This short provides a glimpse into the wild transboundary Flathead River country in British Columbia. "The Flathead" is the place of pristine headwaters which flow south into the United States and Flathead Lake. Grizzly bears, wolverines, wolves, elk and other wildlife depend on the Flathead as their home and as a corridor for migration up and down the Rockies. The Flathead River holds a population of genetically pure westslope cutthroat trout and threatened bull trout. Coal mines, over harvesting of timber, and development of adjacent lands threaten the character of the Flathead. Locals from surrounding communities have banded together to protect the Flathead -groups like Wildsight (wildsight.ca) are working to keep it wild.
