This project enabled Council to promote the many employment opportunities available in trade and industry throughout our Shire, and to showcase women who are locally employed in a range of non-traditional trades.
Over the next decade Wollondilly will experience substantial growth, and with it will come more industry and trade employment opportunities.
It is vital that training and educational opportunities are available to young women who are passionate about employment in a trade or industry. As we will see in the DVD the Trade School at Picton High provides great experiences for female students who have identified an interest in a metal or woodwork.
The DVD shows that women are more than capable of stepping into trade roles. In fact most women who make the decision to complete a trade certificate excel in their studies and in their trades and as the young women who participated in the DVD proudly state they were all top of their classes.
