UltraBatics, VTPR, Madflight, In Your Face, Freestyle... whatever you call it, whatever you use to fly it, if it makes you happy, it's a great thing!!
My first video of the new year. It's great to be out at Ellwood right now, everything is green and beautiful, the lift is good, the ocean looks incredible and life feels amazing whenever I'm there. Lift was about 10-12mph straight in, pretty much perfect for my plane.
In this video, I'm flying my 60" (1.5m), 17oz (480g) Le Fish, using a new pull-pull elevator control system that is a big improvement over the solid pushrod I'd been using for the last 18 months. This pull-pull is based on the system used by Benoit Paysant-Le Roux (BPLR) for his Madslide glider design. My ability to flip the plane has really improved, both upright and inverted, and I made full use of it, as you'll see.
Filmed with a GoPro HD Hero2 set at 1080p resolution, medium FOV, and 30 FPS. Edited with iMovie on a Mac.
