The trail head parking lot for Walls of Jericho, just north of Hytop, Alabama, has some of the darkest skies in the Eastern U.S. This time lapse video was made on Feb. 5, 2013 from 80 minutes of 20 sec exposures using a Canon 5D MkII, Canon 24 mm f/1.4 lens (set at f/1.8), ISO=360, starting about 1 hour after sunset. The trees were illuminated with a small LED camping lantern. Post processing with Photomatix HDR to bring out the dimmer stars. Many satellites, spent rockets, and a few airplanes are visible.
