This video uses found footage of demolition from a French amusement park, Mirapolis. Featured is the park's mascot and national folklore icon, Gargantua. The structure here is reduced to a head, once a full body constructed with an "It's a Small World"-esque ride inside. What is signified by reducing a structure - originally containing its own worldview - to its architecture of national specificity? What does it mean for a simulated space of national folklore to be abandoned and destroyed by the free market?
