On May 5, 2012, SMMoA collaborated with the Kagan Taylor, Justin Rice, and Josef Taylor of the Knowhow Shop to design and create a large-scale hammock in Bergamot Station's People Park. The hammock was designed with 6 sides and 2 levels with a capacity to hold up to 8-10 individuals.

For an afternoon, participants joined the museum and the Knowhow Shop in the Knotwork Workshop: Let's Make a Hammock, to learn some basic knot skills and techniques. The application of this knot knowledge went into collaboratively creating the park's sculptural hammock.

The hammock transformed the park space into a unique oasis for gatherings, relaxation, and meditation. It remained in the park throughout the summer and into the fall for a total of 6 months.
