This is a tale of that greybird day that magically appears when the forecast failed to mention it. You pull into the parking lot and your motivation deflates to a new low. No new snowfall, no sun, and firmpack persists, so all you can do is drink those coffee grounds at the bottom of your 3 hour old coffee AND RALLY! As it turns out, we had a great day at Kirkwood chuting down Primo chute in the California Chute area, descending down untracked Pipeline, and laps in the West Shore zone including the infamous Boulevard. The glacier ice from the rain event the week prior just made skiing more interesting. Next time you question going out to ride in sub-par conditions, DO IT!
