This video is a sketch for a project called Digital Empathy. Digital Empathy explores a technique where I use point of view sound with point of view vision in order for viewers to experience events and moments from someone else's point of view. I want to create a digital experience where people can understand and empathise with the subject of the film by seeing things through their eyes.
Currently I am exploring the technique using my own life and point of view as a test case. As the project progresses I aim to show the different contexts in which this technique can be used in order to gain better understandings of situations, to empathise with certain people and to experience situations which you normally would not.
In this sketch I explore what effect hearing my thoughts has on the viewer (I was inspired by Peep Show). Is it interesting to hear what I think as well as seeing what I see and hearing what I hear? I filmed this over a day and added the 'thoughts' after I edited it.
