This is from the February 05, 2013 Q&A Webinar for Make The Cut!
The teaser section on the upcoming 4.4 release was removed to avoid confusion...
You can find the forum thread with questions covered in this webinar here:
00:00:00 Welcoming Remarks
00:00:35 User wanted to know how to save a “work in progress” when starting a pixel trace of an image that was extremely complicated, requiring multiple tracing efforts. See also original thread here: forum.make-the-cut.com/discussion/30631/pixel-trace-question#latest. Bryan first reviews the “general idea” as explained by mars (Mike) in that thread.
00:08:00 Bryan then reviews more specifically what the User is trying to do and the issues you would encounter in trying to do a pixel trace on a “photo.” He suggests it would be better to “hand trace” with the tools in MTC and shows how he would start to do that with the supplied photo.
00:22:54 User wanted to know why one would want to do multiple tracings of a photo at different threshold levels. Bryan explains and uses PaperKutz method in creating paper portraits as one example. See Paperkutz’ work on threads found via this search on MTC Forum:
make-the-cut.com/search/?q=paperkutz (start with Tom Cruise image)
00:30:00 User has drawing she created that contains “open” paths and “closed” paths that she wants to do as a “print and cut”. Problem occurs with open path fonts when printing. Bryan reviews issue and some possible work arounds.
00:46:30 Susan (SusanBlueRobot) gives a demonstration on how to create a 2”, six sided square box where you can make the sides of the boxes all different colors.
00:59:14 User wanted to know how to create cutting files of the Super Bowl and Ravens logo for her personal use. Bryan reviews how to search for images and bring them into MTC and possible problems you may encounter
NOTE: Bryan and Andy also gave a review of some of the new features to be introduced in MTC 4.4.0. That part of the Webinar is NOT included in the recording. However, please note that as of 02/11/13, MTC 4.4.0 has been released as the most recent “official release.” To see the new features added to MTC 4.4.0 see this thread: forum.make-the-cut.com/discussion/30840/make-the-cut-version-4-4-0/p1 which also contains videos by Andy showing the new features.
