James has been shooting for nearly 30 years and has worked for nearly every domestic television network and many cable TV shows, including "The Shed," "I Hate My Kitchen," "America Declassified," and the Travel Channel's "Mega RV Countdown." His recent credits include ABC's "Great Christmas Light Fight," and "Undercover Boss." He has covered over 200 landfalling tropical systems and logged tens of thousands of miles in search of severe weather as a storm chaser.
James picked up his first broadcast video camera in 1983 and soon started working as a freelance videographer, providing videography services to local TV stations. As his career progressed, he gained the skills to work in the capacities of videographer, director, lighting technician, gaffer, producer, and Director of Photography.
James specializes in cutting-edge 4K and high-definition production and post-production. He has served US and International broadcast networks such as The Weather Channel, CBS, ABC, NBC, CBN, Reuters, BBC, and Associated Press Television, as well as scores of local television stations.
