On Northwestern University’s Evanston campus, students were selling “Support Josie” wristbands that were for a sophomore theater major named Josie Nordman. Josie has cystic fibrosis, an inherited disease that makes the mucus in the lungs really thick. Josie needs a lung transplant that would help save her life. Northwestern University students answered the call that asked students to help out for getting Josie a lung. The lung is important to Josie, who wants to pursue her goals. The wristband sale went on over the weekend, and the students were selling the wristbands at Technological Institute, in front of the Kellogg Building, and out by the rock that were all locations on campus. The wristbands cost two dollars, and the proceeds went to help fund Josie’s lung transplant that could be a life-saving operation.
