The Kilpatricks moved from Ireland to the south west Victorian town of Koroit five years ago to run a dairy farm. What they didn't know about Koroit before they set off for Australia is its strong Irish History. The town sign reads, "Koroit Irish Village". What a shock it was to leave Ireland for Australia only to arrive at the most 'Irish' celebrated part of Australia.
Over the last two years the Kilpatricks have employed Irish backpackers on their farm. This story is created by Irish backpacker, Trudi McDonald, who at the time of the making of this story was doing her 'regionals' on the Kilpatrick's farm.
This film was made with assistance from ABC Open South West Victoria producer Colleen Hughson (another Irish descendent)
