We got the impression that Tyrel, the groom, is a romantic type. This is because when we asked for the couple’s love story, they sent a poem instead:
Seeing each other yet never noticing
separate lives and different paths
distant thoughts and dreams apart
for time crept and suns has set...
Yet by the grace of the Almighty
their souls have met
paths entwined and love ignite
hearts has warmed and slowly unite
On this day as their story unfolds
a love to last with the grace divine
a new beginning for two to be one
true love flourish together as one...
We weren’t contented with it and asked for more specific details, so here it is. They’ve known each other ever since they were in college; meeting as acquaintances through common friends. After six years, they got in touch again through online means, as Marie was abroad at the time. Tyrel consoled the lonesome Marie, and they eventually became close friends. What’s more, the groom proved to be a true romantic by sending his then future wife Valentine’s flowers to ask if he could court her. She said yes. On her birthday, he sent her a cake, a teddy bear, and a poem. They met in person when Marie came back to the Philippines. They went through a formal courtship period when Tyrel came to see Marie in Vietnam. On October 21, 2011, they became an official couple.
Tyrel and Marie’s love surpassed the distance that came between them, and we were privileged to have been part of this wedding where true love flourished for us to remember.
