A CRL Learns presentation by Amy Gaumer-Erickson
Looking at evaluation data after a project is completed has limited value . . . doing this is like looking at data on a patients after they’ve died! An alternative is to implement a “utilization-focused” data system. The School Implementation Scale, an online fidelity measure for measuring tiered systems (academic and behavioral) has undergone 5 years of testing. When this tool is used by all instructional staff in a school, the correlation with improved academic outcomes for students with disabilities is high. The most impressive outcome, however, was how it informed overall school improvement efforts. This session shows the tool, example school summary reports, and talks about lessons learned and future refinements.
