From 8640 minutes, a six-day project made up of two live participatory performance works: The Human Clock and 10 Minutes. The project is taking place in Islington from 12-17 February as part of A Million Minutes, a two year programme of arts activity and creative exchange in Islington.
The performances take place in the window spaces of 36 Junction Road, Islington, an abandoned shop converted into an artistic space. During shop opening hours a team of performers will operate The Human Clock in relay, attempting to perform the seconds, minutes and hours as accurately as possible, aided by suggestions from the public. In a separate window space, members of the public will be invited to spend 10 Minutes of their time in the window, with eyes closed and facing out toward the street, marking the passing of each minute by holding up the corresponding number. The project is intended to be an exploration of the passing of time, made visible by the performance of its passing.
8640 minutes will run from Tuesday 12 until Sunday 17 February, at 36 Junction Road, Islington.
Opening hours: 11am-7pm Tuesday-Sunday and 11am-10pm Friday (closed 5-7pm).
