This is a personal project. I enjoy taking photos and videos of family and friends because it not only allows me to capture important moments in time and tell a story, it also reminds me of growing up in the 80's when our Father used to videotape and photograph my Brother and I (constantly) :). My Brother and I had days where we loved the camera and then other days where we simply wanted Dad to leave us alone. My Brother would sometimes dress up in costumes as a young boy and put on a show and then as he got older, he'd play guitar for the camera or be followed around Stony Brook track or Sunken Meadow Park for track and cross-country events. My Dad got me into commercials when I was younger. My first TV commercial was at age 5, and then I did a few more after that. Since then I have never been afraid of the camera and also love public speaking. I think my Dad taking so many pictures of us also encouraged me to become a photographer earlier in my career. I worked for newspapers, magazines and do a few weddings. I am happy now that it didn't remain my career as I need photography as a creative outlet, every once in a while, as a way to express myself and also to step away from my laptop or cell phone.
