Someday there’ll be a cure. Someday we won’t lose the people we love.
Someday. It’s the word we use whenever we talk about cancer. But someday is not that far off. In fact, for many people, someday is today.
Thanks to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, hundreds of thousands diagnosed with blood cancer are living a normal life, free of chemo or radiation, many managing their condition with just a daily pill.
In our 60+ years, LLS has invested more than $875 million to accelerate cancer treatments once thought impossible. Partnering with universities and biotech companies, LLS is leading the way by identifying promising research that could deliver better cancer treatments, and providing support that accelerates the time it takes to get these treatments to market.
The result is miraculous new therapies, developed in record time, and rushed to patients who desperately need them. The result is that we are closer than ever to cures for many kinds of cancers. It’s no exaggeration to say that we can see the end of cancer from here.
“Someday is today” is the theme of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s new communications campaign and exemplified by these two commercials. Narrated by Michael C. Hall, star of Showtime’s “Dexter” and himself a cancer survivor, the spots reveal with uncommon humanity just how close LLS has brought us to a world without cancer.
LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health agency devoted to curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improving the lives of patients and their families. For more information go to lls.org
