The Escape (2012)

This video is inspired by experiences at Donaldina Cameron House in San Francisco Chinatown. It was shot there in its historic five-story building. From its founding as the Mission Home for Girls in 1874 until the 1930s, Cameron House assisted over 2,000 women who sought shelter, education, and opportunities, or sought refuge from forced domestic labor or servitude. This clip follows a woman who has just escaped her captor, the man who owns her.
