The project ‘Spatial Compositions’ utilizes collaborative creation strategies in the production of a site-specific performance and a publication of a playtext. During a workshop or a series of workshops, participants experiment with improvisation techniques, rule games and a unique kind of movement notation. Proposed exercises familiarize the participants with the way movement is produced through the body, its dependency on the physical organization of space and the intrinsic social rules which affect people’s behaviour. Essentially, participants of the workshop become a temporary research group that investigates into the fleeting private instants which compos public routines. At the end of the workshop we formulate an instruction booklet or a movement score composed of the participants' movement notations. The booklet is performed by the participants of the workshop at the public space that it was written for, and handed out to passers-by during the performance enabling anyone to join in. The outcome is that of an invisible theater performance.
