Episode 14 in the Second Series commemorates St. Gregory the Great of Rome. He is identified as Gregory the Great to distinguish him from the many successors with the same name. Widely considered the first modern Pope, he changed the Church calendar, adding Ash Wednesday as the opening of Lent and profoundly influenced the development of liturgies in the western tradition. Revisions are part of the AIC celebration of the start of its 2nd decade on the Web. Cross-referenced to Other AIC Resources, including the Video series, The Nicene Creed. Gregory is also discussed in Episode One in our Seasonal Video series, Lent: the Penitential Season. Written and produced for the Anglican Internet Church by the Rev. Dr. Ronald E. Shibley, Founder/Director.
