My buddy piloted the RCTimer S800 today while I shot video. He is obviously an awesome pilot! But this video really shows what the bird can do right out of the box!
There are no modifications to the RCTimer S800 in this video, except that we bought two battery trays (it comes with one in the kit.) I would actually suggest ordering two or three EXTRA trays, since a third/fourth tray could feasibly be used for mounting a camera gimbal (other than a Zenmuse).
The FC on this bird in a Naza with default gains (100% on atti pitch and atti roll). Expo has been added to the stick to smooth motion out - due to the anticipated use of this bird for aerial video.
Flight times are yet to be established. That is, there has not been time to really drain the batteries all the way! Yesterday, a hover flight of 14 minutes (in weather of about 45-degrees F) drained only 5,200mah of the available 8,000mah (this is assuming the standard rule of only draining a maximum of 20% of available mah).
All said, the RCTimer S800 is a really nice value! The SimonK flashed ESC's do a great job, the motors are very high quality, the frame material is indistinguishable from its namesake (these arms seem stiffer than my friend's DJI S800), and the price is impossible to beat!
