In this edition of Living in Longview, Shawn Hara chats with Elissa Breitenstein about the Texas Film Round Up. The Texas Film Round-Up provides residents free digitization services for their Texas-related films and videos. Materials will be converted to a digital format such as a DVD or .avi file, and then returned to the customer at a later date. Residents may bring materials to the Longview Public Library’s Genealogy and Local History department between February 17 – March 3, 2013. A joint collaboration between the Texas Archive of the Moving Image (TAMI) and the Texas Film Commission (TFC), the Film Round-Up accepts home movies, educational films, advertisements, local television, and other films in the hopes of preserving Texas’ media heritage.
