Puerto Escondido is a beautiful coastal town. It's popularity has grown in recent decades, revered as a surfers paradise, but it somehow manages to maintain this small town feel. With lots of beach communities up and down the coast, the area is well known for it's seafood. With more open and public beaches like Playa Principal, we were able to experience this first-hand, as an assortment of fish were being brought in, weighed, broken down and cooked to order right there on the beach.
Locals and tourists alike were watching and tasting slivers of freshly caught fish raw, while others like Rick were able to sit down and enjoy some Pescada a la Tailla....beautifully rustic and delicious.
We ended our day with some delicious tacos from a restaurant on the more secluded Carrizalillo Beach, where Rick was also able to try his hand at some paddle boarding.
