Seniors with untreated hearing loss are more likely to be socially isolated, experience depression, and strained relationships. Comparatively, seniors who treat their hearing loss experience better relationships with their families, better feelings about themselves, and greater independence and security (USA council on Aging Study). Better Awareness of the importance of treating hearing loss is needed.
In The Journey to Better Hearing for Seniors you will meet Dora, Betty, Alex and Bob, as they candidly share their experiences with hearing loss, the impact hearing loss has had on their lives and advice for other seniors living with hearing loss, their families and friends. How we hear, types of hearing loss, hearing aids, hearing assistive technology, financial assistance, and community resources are also explored.
This film is a must see for Seniors, their families and friends, seniors groups, health care professionals, policy makers, and the public in general.
After viewing this film you should have a better understanding of hearing loss for seniors and the importance of identifying and treating the loss. The outcome is happier and more meaningful lives for seniors, their families and friends.
