Mahal Kita Buí Toin (2011)
paints, video, khim & computer (Max/MSP & Quartz Composer)

Collaborator: Alan Boardman (Artist)

Mahal Kita Buí Toin sees the use of an individually built audio interface to create improvised sonic accompaniment, and the programming of a multi-video/image cross-fader within Quartz Composer to create a video interpretation of Boardman’s process/technique.

Applying fade times to numerous cross-faders set to various speeds, the result creates a slow morphing image that forms its own reactions/details as the video layers begin to emerge and disappear. The visual represents a likeness to the interactive process of the improvised audio accompaniment – minute regular changes through exploration.
