This special session will provide an in-depth overview of evidence-based practices (EBP) in child welfare. Presenters will explain the definition of EBP and the impact of EBP on workforce development. Participants will hear about implementing EBP in child welfare, including the stages of organizational readiness, approaches to implementation, and factors that influence successful uptake. Presenters will share information about the resources available through the California Evidence-based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare, as well as a range of examples from jurisdictions that have effectively implemented EBP, discussing current trends, challenges and controversies, as well as lessons learned and tips for success.
