The Promise of the Father
1.What is the “Promise of the Father”?
"Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high."
And being assembled together with [them], He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which,” He said, "you have heard from Me;
"for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."
2. What is the purpose of the Promise?
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
3.When is the Promise available?
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.
4.Who can have the Promise?
"For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call."
