Teaching in China was such a blast I did it 2 summers in a row. Getting to go back and see some of the same kids was an amazing feeling to see how much they grew. The most interesting thing I learned while there was that even though I don't know the language, body language is something I can read and write. Giving the kids high fives everyday as they left the room was a way to end the day in a good way no matter who was bad or good, everybody got a high five and they left with a smile.
The kids knew what I meant when I used my eyes and I knew what they were doing when they were trying to be secretive or get away with something. I could also tell when someone was being picked on just by their body language. What a great learning experience to see how body language is something you can get by on.
P.s. this video features the ONLY baby I ever saw with a diaper on the entire 9 weeks I have lived there. Seriously, they don't use diapers!
