The thermal video projection system was initially conceived for the choreographic project, Corps noir. It uses a thermal infrared camera coupled with a video projector and an optical system. Thermal images of bodies or objects captured by the camera are re-projected live onto those same bodies or objects, enabling the spectator to observe a phenomenon invisible to the naked eye: the thermal changes occurring on the surface of the bodies. The image projected onto the bodies forms a skin made of light, with each colour referring to a specific thermal area. Conventional video images can also be combined and imbedded in the thermal projection.
