The goal of this project was to shoot ourselves against a green screen and then composite in a location and explosion elements. However, all of us had dificulty with the quality of our greens creen footage. We used a Panasonic HPX170 camera to caputre our greenscreen plate. The consensus is that there was probably a setting in the camera that we missed thereby affecting our footage quality. Hence the wierd visual elements in the green screen plate.
That being said, this was still a great project to work on. I did my best to work with the footage that I had. Early on I decided that because I'm walking into shadow, I'd color correct both the background plate and green screen plate to make it appear that the entire scene was at night and that I was walking in the moonlight. Plus, working with the various explosion and fire elements was a ton of fun. Add to that, the final element of us having to put 3d text into the scene and the whole thing is complete.
I'm sure that there are a few more things that I can do to this project, but I feel that it's time to stop for now.
