John Casey, who has been helping out with development of the Motive 25R, and racing partner, Sarah Newberry, take a break from training on the Olympic class, Nacra 17, to push the new Motive 25R trimaran to 23.5 knots, exploding one of our 'off the shelf' rudder heads!, just before our videographer showed up. Here's a short iphone clip though, catching some of the action. F18 designer, Matt McDonald is developing new rudders for the Motive 25R, and we should be back up and running in a few weeks. This was our first time on the water since narrowing the overall beam and raising the water stays. We also switched from lashings to turnbuckles for the water stays, which greatly stiffened the platform.
Motive Trimarans is proud to support Newberry/Casey in their 2016 Olympic campaign, and wish them continued success at the 2013, Nacra 17 Worlds in Holland. motive trimarans.com
