October 1974, County Durham, from the Free Photographic Omnibus. Italo 'Roy' Rigali runs a fish & chip shop in Easington Village. When the local council erects traffic bollards on the green outside his shop, Roy fears for his passing trade. Dubbing himself the Evil Fish Fryer, he puts up a fight. Here he sings the Bollard Calypso, centrepiece of the act he performs in local working men's clubs throughout that autumn. Happily things turn out well and the bollards are removed.
