ZRADA / BETRAYAL
SEPTEMBER 2021
PRAGUE / CZECH REPUBLIC
Harold Pinter was one of the most influential modern British dramatists, winning the Nobel prize in 2005. Betrayal (1978) is regarded as one of his most famous work. This new adaptation cuts the text to its core, exploring hidden emotions, dishonesty and deceptions. The characters cannot escape the bare stage, stuck in their own web of lies. We watch silently, eavesdropping on their secrets. The play leads us back in time, trying to reveal us the truth – but we get lost in the way. A truly personal play that confronts the actors, and the audience, with their own flaws.
