3ds max, Thinking particles (SC, Bullet, point dynamics), advanced fragmenter script by JBond, a lot of caches and render times.
Several layered sims.
Planned to make around 50k glass frags but bullet in tp seems to be not the fastest implementation (lost 2 days waiting for the sims) so only about 15k frags here)
Highly controllable setup - It's not just fragment and hope to get something good out of it.
Automatic, semi-automatic joint placement, activation/ type change by angle, time etc..
