Project realized by Sissi Roselli | Matteo Sandrini
RE:PLACE is a project that attempts to explore the actual reality in the surrounding area of Canal Villoresi, within the macro-project of revaluation called: “Una via d'acqua per l'Expo 2015”. The main intention of this project is to focus on the stretch of the linear park, - expected for a global length of about 100 km – covering just the area more strictly related to the Expo of approximately 6 km. Of the nine points mentioned in the program of the 'Via d'acqua', it has been decided to work on five crucial nodes, realizing an urban crossing that visually explores all the radical mutations or the static situation of the landscape. This project is organized through some inspections in the same point of views twice per year, until the conclusion of the entire construction site of the Expo foreseen in 2015. As a result, this research will be structured as a documentary divided in chapters, being a gradual interpretation of the environmental changes within this large area.
This first video represents the actual situation in August 2011, and it will be updated with the visits that will follow, in order to gather any evidence of mutation. The deployment of the soundscape recorded in every location is fundamental in order to return a complete description of these windows of the water. The sonic-experience of the audio-recordings, together with the visual perspective, allows us to understand, in a more complete way, these areas in a continuous mutual change over the next few years.
