Padmasambhava was a real historical figure. He lived a long time ago, and was the one who brought the teachings of the Buddha into Tibet. His power was great, and it was the power of love, his message is to live in the heart. He overcame dark forces by his inner strength and light.
There is a famous statue said to have been blessed by him, of him, and he said it looks like me, it is me. The painting in this video was dome by me, Carol, and I worked from the image of that statue. the rest of the images were all created by me using a fractal program, however a lot of it is not typical fractals. I look for primal archetypal images, as well as graphic ones to create another kind of vision, another kind of cosmic realm to tell my story. Padmasambhava is said to have disappeared into rainbows of fire, sitting on a lotus in a lake. He left his body in a special way of a fully realized master, master of the physical and the spiritual bodies.
The music in this video is me carol playing my Tibetan singing bowls, and singing the mantra of Padmasambhava, also called the Guru Rimpoche mantra. When I made the painting I sang the mantra a lot, and felt very connected to Padma, a strong heart connection. This is a new edit of my video for Vimeo, it has been quite popular on Youtube for a few years, actually this is about the third rendition of it.
