On February 16, 2012 as children were leaving school less than a block
away, It wasn't the sound of laughing and playing that they heard, it
was the echo of gunshots.
17-year-old Lamont DeShawn Price was the victim. "My son was killed on
81st and Birch, on the corner," said Ramon Price Sr., Lamont's father.
"He was sitting in his car talking to a couple gentlemen, one walked
around to the other side of his car and fired 4 shots."
The San Francisco Chronicle has spent the last year documenting Violence in Oakland
