Dr James Canton, from our Department of Literature, Film, and Theatre Studies, discusses Essex landscapes and challenges the idea that it is just part of a London suburban sprawl. His book provides an antidote to "The Only Way is Essex" and lazy stereotypes to show that the county is about amazing landscapes. He also examines the literary figures that have been inspired by Essex.
James Canton will speak at the 2013 Essex Book Festival. To find out more or to book go to: essexbookfestival.org.uk/events/james-canton/
