Calisto Park Equestrian Centre (CPEC) is all about helping those in need of connection.
Founded by President Claire Byrnes, CPEC is a learning and sharing place for 'differently abled' Redland City residents who wish to have close encounters with horses in a beautiful setting, and in an enormous equestrian centre.
Philanthropist Lorette Wigan has allowed CPEC access to the grounds for classes between 10am-2pm and has helped CPEC committee to engender whole of community support from all levels of government, business entrepreneurs, media, school, non-profit groups, and individual volunteers.
It is hoped that disadvantaged youth, adults, people with differing abilities and those with an interest to attend can access powerful learning therapies with professional assistance.
This initiative has potential to engender great connections & collaborations across our city and the region.
Redland City Mayor, Cr. Karen Williams, Cr. Julie Talty, Cr. Lance Hewlett, Cr. Wendy Boglary & Cr. Paul Bishop attended with Peter Dowling MP, Steve Davies MP, Dr. Mark Robinson MP and Federal Member for Bowman, Andrew Laming were all in attendance to celebrate the work of community members who turned one woman's dream into a practical reality.
