The america rider, Dennis Stapleton won the first race of Losail MX championship at the new Losail Motocross Track.
As a support race of the FIM MX1/MX2 World Championship, the second round of this championship took place this afternoon with a total of 33 riders in the entry list.
Stapleton didn’t give any chance to the other riders and from the start he lead the race. He managed to cross the finishe line with a gap of 1.30.366 with the second fastest rider, Leroy Botha from South Africa.
The Kuwaiti rider Mishary Aboushaibah finished in third position. All three riders are competing in the MX1 category.
In the MX2 category, the kuwaiti rider Abdullah Al Shatti finished first in his category. Hassan Ahmed from Bahrain and Barak AlJasmi ended in second and third position in the podium respectively.
Trophies were given by Mr. Nasser Khalifa Al Attiya, QMMF President and LIC General Manager and Mr. Sultan Al Morraikhi, QMMF Board Member.
‘The track has improved from 2 weeks ago from the first round and I was very happy about that. Once again I was not very good in the first lap, as it was a bit muddy at the start but I felt very comfortable and I am leading the championship’ Stapleton said after the race.
‘We are very happy with the second round of this championship and we involve all the neighbourg country to participate with us with almost 12 nationalities participating in this round from all over the world. I hope to increase the number of riders in the coming events as we have profesional riders with us that will bring more participants and teams. I hope all the spectators enjoyed the race and will stay with us all the weekend’ Mr. Nasser Khalifa Al Attiya stated at the podium ceremony.
