Sunday is sacred for our family. Our Dad beautifully sets out the small and large plates and then we spend hours at the table. And can you imagine, my father knew absolutely nothing about cooking before my mother left him... My brother, who is the antithesis of our education that is a bit bourgeois, eats only what he finds at night in the garbage containers outside the supermarkets. As for my grandmother, even the tiniest, dried out crust of bread would never be thrown away. Everything and anything can be reused and reinvented in a new dish, cooked with love. And as for me, cooking is emotional: It is simply this – I mix up my heart with my stomach.
“Sunday with the Family,” is the intimate portrait of a family marked by divorce; going from one kitchen to another, until the very heart of the dishes.
