Triana lives in the southern Spanish city of Jerez de la Frontera. I first saw her dance on stage when she was 2 years old, and still in diapers. She was good then. She's even better now--charming, graceful, darling.
We've filmed this as part of our new project, "Flamenco: the Land is Still Fertile (Flamenco: la tierra está viva)." It will be a documentary, and I´m doing it together with Antonio de la Malena. We´ve received initial funding, enough to draft a rough script/treatment, and shoot a couple of scenes (including this one) which will go in the preliminary trailer.
And yes, the person singing for young Triana is Antonio de la Malena, himself.
We´ve shot two scenes so far, this one and another one with a tiny boy, Manuel (aged 2) doing dance remates. In a couple of days, we´ll shoot a third, with adults. I´ll say more about it after we´ve completed the shoot.
In the meantime, hope you enjoy this as much as I do. Triana is great.
