Monitoring marine life in False Bay, South Africa, is serious business. Except, of course, when it comes to comedic cephalopods. Much to our delight, we've had many visits from the clever eight-legged sea creatures that call this bay their home. Watching their ingenuity and determination, undeterred by the presence of SCUBA divers and without the invasiveness of removing them from their natural habitat, makes for fascinating natural history. Follow the False Bay story as we document the life in these waters and work towards their conservation on saveourseas.com, or follow updates from @lauren_de_vos on Twitter. This University of Cape Town project is funded by the Save our Seas Foundation and the South African Environmental Observation Network (SAEON).
