This is the first true second line we have shot or participated in, all to honor my brother Randy. Randy died on February 27, 2013, just one week shy of his 30th birthday. He lived life to the fullest, was always happy and never said a bad word about anyone.
His fiance, friends and family got together on Saturday March 9, 2013 to celebrate his life in true New Orleans form with Stooges Brass Band leading the way. They were able to get a last minute permit and book everything in record time. T-shirts were made by Randy's friend Glenn Hebert stating, "Live More Randally" to remind everyone to live life to the fullest. Zama Para band members, family and friends held pictures of Randy and Ole Oddløkken played saxophone along with the brass band. Other friends played guitar, maracas and other percussion instruments. We started at 915 Decatur Street, the previous address of our family store, Progress Grocery, and ended at Washington Square. About 200 people were there to celebrate Randy's wonderful life. It was a very touching day and the perfect way to remember Randy. I know that he was looking down on us and loving every minute of it. We all miss you very much Randy and will never forget you.
