OCSC were appointed by South Dublin County Council to undertake an accessibility assessment of the M4 National Primary at Liffey West. The national primary has a grade separated inverted dumbbell interchange close to a major retail and mixed use development. The purpose of the study was to assess the impact on network capacity of junction changes necessary to implement bus and cycle priority measures. OCSC reviewed 9 separate Vissim microsimulation scenarios of the area and modelled vehicle, bus, cycle and pedestrian movements in each scenario.
OCSC undertook the microsimulation modelling of the area and imposed multiple network modifications in order to determine the impact of the proposed priority scheme on the performance of the road network.
