Lessons Learned for REDD+ from Payments for Environmental Services (PES) and Conservation Incentive Programs
This series of short videos summarizes the key insights of a large number of country representatives and experts in the field of Payments for Environmental Services (PES) and Conservation Incentives Programs. The discussion of the experts builds on a the 2012 publication that documents experiences generated from over a decade of implementation of these programs in Costa Rica, Mexico, and Ecuador. The publication was prepared in collaboration with the Costa Rican National Forest Finance Fund (Fondo Nacional de Financiamiento Forestal), the Mexican National Forest Commission (Comisión Nacional Forestal), the Ecuador Ministry of Environment, the Program on Forests, Forest Trends, the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility, and the Latin American and Caribbean Region of the World Bank. Expert insights in the videos were captured at a South-South knowledge exchange that was convened in Costa Rica in 2011. Additional panel discussions involving a range of international stakeholders were held in Durban in 2011 and Washington 2012 and Asuncion in 2012.
